Analysing Veo footage per player

How to turn a Veo recording into feedback for every player in Smart11. From pasting the link to the conversation with your player.

What you need

  • A Veo recording of the match with a public link.
  • A Smart11 account. Smart11 BASE for a team, or SmartCoach if you analyse on your own.
  • Clairence, optionally, if you want the moments found automatically.

Importing the match

  1. Log in at app.smart11.ai and create a new match.
  2. Paste the public Veo link. Smart11 recognises the link and fills in title, date and type.
  3. Check the type: match, friendly, opponent analysis or training.
  4. Decide who sees the match: individual players or the whole team.
  5. Smart11 processes the video. You see the progress and get a notification when the match is ready.

For a 90-minute match, processing usually takes up to two hours.

Link not working? Download the video from Veo and upload the file. Smart11 accepts large files in mp4, mov, mkv, avi and other formats.

Links from YouTube, Google Drive or WeTransfer do not work. Upload that footage as a file.

If the recording comes in several parts, merge them into one video.

How players analyse their actions

Each player opens the match in the Smart11 app and selects their own actions.

For each action the player rates the impact: plus, neutral or minus. Then they answer five questions: observation, choice, goal, execution and whether the goal was achieved.

Smart11 calculates the Impact score from the answers. A match takes a player about 15 minutes.

Teammates only see each other's actions when a player shares them.

Clairence on Veo footage

Clairence, the AI analyst, usually processes the match within 2 hours and at most within 6 hours.

What Clairence recognises Details
Teams By kit. After the analysis you indicate which team is yours.
Players By shirt number. Each player picks their own number.
Events Passes, crosses, drives, shots, goals and set pieces.
Balbezit Per team and per player.
Ball location Filter on any part of the pitch.
Physical data Distance, sprints, top speed and speed zones per player.

After every analysis a Clairence report is ready. It shows team possession over the match, heatmaps and physical data per player, and each player's actions on the pitch.

Every report also grades the quality of the footage.

Footage that works well

A high camera on the long side of the pitch gives the best result.

Watch out for strong backlight and a dirty lens. If a player or the ball is hard to see, Clairence cannot recognise them either.

If a clip is wrong, report it in SmartCoach.

The conversation with your player

You see per player which actions they selected and how they rated them.

Reply in the chat with the clip attached, or discuss one action briefly at training.

Coaches report about 10 minutes per week to coach several players this way.
