Visualize. Analyze. Improve.
The brand-new Drawing Tool in Smart11 and SmartCoach is now available – and it’s a game-changer for football analysis.

📌 Currently available on desktop browsers only – mobile support coming soon!

With the Drawing Tool, you can now add tactical annotations directly onto your game clips. Whether you’re a player reviewing your own performance, or a coach giving feedback to your team, this feature helps you communicate clearly and learn faster.

🛠️ Annotation types and how to use them

Here’s a breakdown of what you can do – and some examples of how to use each annotation:

➡️ Arrows

Show direction of movement or passes.
Example: Indicate a better passing option, or the run a player should’ve made. Adjust the line width, arrow type, line style, line color, and opacity.

🔵 Player Highlights

Spotlight specific players.
Example: Highlight the player you are focusing on in your analysis. Adjust the line width, color, opacity, and player name. You can also connect multiple players, which forms a line between them.

🔲 Shapes & Zones

Draw rectangles and other shapes to visualize zones.
Example: Mark the press zone or highlight the compact block your team should maintain. Adjust the line width, line style, color, opacity, and fill of the shape.

🔴 Circles

Emphasize space or gaps.
Example: Show the open space between the opponent’s midfield and defensive line. Adjust line width, line style, color, opacity and fill.

📏 Lines

Draw lines between players to show structure.
Example: Visualize the back four or midfield line. Adjust line width, color, opacity, and player names.

📝 Text

Add written instructions.
Example: “Step out earlier” or “Track your runner.” Adjust text size, text color, background color and background opacity.

✏️ Freehand Drawing

Sketch ideas freely.
Example: Curve a run, draw arrows with personality, or mark defensive shapes. Adjust line width, line style, color, and opacity.

🧠 How it works

  1. Open a clip in Smart11 or SmartCoach (on desktop).
  2. Click the Drawing Tool button under the video.
  3. Pause the video at the exact moment you want to annotate.
  4. Add as many annotations as you want.
  5. Set how long the video should pause at that moment.
  6. Save – and repeat for more annotation moments in the same clip.

💡 Tip for Players & Coaches

✅ Use multiple annotation moments per clip to tell a story.
✅ Use clear colors for different purposes (e.g., red = danger, green = go).
✅ Combine arrows + text + highlights for maximum clarity.
